30 KILLED IN FATAL ROAD ACCIDENT ALONG ORE-LAGOS HIGHWAY

A devastating road accident occurred on Saturday along the Ore-Lagos highway in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, claiming the lives of 30 people. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident on Sunday.

According to the Ondo FRSC commander, Samuel Ibitoye, the accident happened when two commercial buses collided head-on and burst into flames. “Preliminary investigation showed that one of the vehicles drove against traffic,” Ibitoye said.

The commander stated that 28 persons were burnt beyond recognition in the inferno, while two others died while being taken to the hospital for treatment. The accident is one of the deadliest to occur on the Ore-Lagos highway in recent times, highlighting the need for increased caution and adherence to traffic laws by drivers.
