Children’s Day 2026: First Lady Calls for Inclusion, Responsible Choices Among Nigerian Children
Oluremi Tinubu has extended warm wishes to children across Nigeria as the country marks the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, urging young Nigerians to embrace discipline, learning, and responsible living in order to secure a brighter future.
In a message released on Wednesday to commemorate the annual celebration, the First Lady described children as active contributors to the nation’s present and not just leaders of the future.
Speaking on the 2026 Children’s Day theme, “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child,” Senator Tinubu stressed the importance of creating opportunities that allow every child in the country to feel included and empowered.
She encouraged children to take responsibility for their actions and make decisions that would positively shape their future.
According to her, the choices children make today will determine the kind of future they experience tomorrow, adding that success can only be achieved through discipline, character development, and commitment to education and personal growth.
The First Lady also cautioned against destructive behaviours and unrealistic pursuits, noting that a better tomorrow can only be built through hard work, focus, and purposeful living.
She concluded by wishing Nigerian children a joyful and memorable Children’s Day celebration.
