The Allied People’s Movement has affirmed Yakubu Adamu as its governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Bauchi State.

Adamu announced his emergence in a statement issued on Thursday, describing the nomination as a call to service and a major responsibility toward the people of the state.

“I accept this honour with humility, a full sense of responsibility, and an unwavering commitment to serve my dear state,” he said.

The governorship hopeful expressed gratitude to Bala Mohammed for what he described as mentorship, support, and confidence in young leaders.

According to him, the Bauchi governor has played a significant role in grooming emerging political figures by entrusting them with responsibilities and preparing them for leadership positions.

Adamu said the achievements recorded by the present administration in the last seven years motivated his decision to contest the governorship seat, adding that he intends to build on existing developmental gains in the state.

He also appreciated the leadership of the APM, party stakeholders, members, and residents of Bauchi State for supporting his candidacy.

The APM candidate commended other aspirants for their conduct during the selection process and called on them to unite behind the party ahead of the 2027 general election.

“Now that the contest is over and the real task begins, I urge them to join hands with us so we can remain united in purpose, focused on the bigger goal, and committed to victory,” he stated.

Adamu pledged to run an issue-based campaign centred on economic growth, job creation, education, healthcare, infrastructure, rural development, youth empowerment, and renewable energy.

He stressed that his campaign would focus on continuity, progress, and shared prosperity rather than political division.

“Our state has come a long way. The foundation laid in the past seven years is strong, visible, and impactful. We must protect it, build on it, and take it to the next level,” he added.

The governorship aspirant also appealed to supporters of other contenders to join what he described as a collective mission to advance the development of Bauchi State.
