NDC Grants Omo-Agege, Ochei Waivers to Contest Delta Senatorial Seats in 2027
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has approved waivers for former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege and former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Victor Ochei, to contest the Delta Central and Delta North Senatorial seats respectively in the 2027 general elections.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Osa Director.
According to the statement, the decision followed the formal defection of both political leaders from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the NDC.
The party said it granted the waivers in recognition of the political experience, leadership capacity, and democratic credentials of the two politicians.
“The leadership of the party is confident that both leaders possess the competence, experience, and grassroots support necessary to deliver quality representation to the people of Delta Central and Delta North Senatorial Districts,” the statement said.
The NDC described Omo-Agege and Ochei as distinguished political figures whose entrance into the party would strengthen its structure and broaden its appeal ahead of the 2027 elections.
The party also assured them of a credible and inclusive platform to pursue their political ambitions and contribute to the development of Delta State and Nigeria.
According to the statement, the NDC remains committed to internal democracy, transparency, inclusion, and building what it described as “a better Delta State and a greater Nigeria.”
