Delta North: Okowa Launches Stakeholder Consultations Ahead of Elections
Former Delta State Governor and political leader, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has officially flagged off consultations for the Delta North Senatorial District in Asaba, signalling early political mobilization ahead of future electoral engagements in the state
The consultation meeting, which drew political stakeholders, party leaders, youth representatives, and community influencers from across the Anioma region, was aimed at strengthening internal party cohesion and fostering inclusive dialogue on the future of the district.
Okowa, who also served as Nigeria’s Vice Presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, emphasized the importance of unity, strategic engagement, and sustained grassroots participation in shaping the political direction of Delta North.
He noted that consultations of this nature were necessary to ensure that the voices of constituents are properly reflected in decision-making processes.
According to him, the Delta North senatorial zone remains critical to the political and developmental trajectory of Delta State, urging stakeholders to prioritize peace, collaboration, and development-oriented politics over personal interests.
Participants at the event reportedly commended the initiative, describing it as a timely step toward consolidating political structures within the senatorial district.
They also used the opportunity to express concerns about infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and representation at both state and federal levels.
The consultations are expected to continue across various local government areas within Delta North in the coming weeks as part of a broader engagement strategy.
