“I AM AN EXTREMIST” – FUNKE AKINDELE OPENS UP ON RELATIONSHIPS, CUTTING PEOPLE OFF, AND MENTAL HEALTH
Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has described herself as an extremist in her approach to relationships, particularly when it comes to cutting people off after being hurt. The actress shared her reflections during an interview with media personality Morayo Afolabi on her YouTube show, acknowledging that she is not perfect and can be challenging at times, according to Ireporter Online.
Akindele recounted advice from her late mother, who cautioned her against trying to change people to match her personality, noting that not everyone can share her level of drive and efficiency. She also credited fellow industry professional Uzee Usman for reshaping her perspective on human relationships, encouraging her to accept people as they are rather than attempting to mold them.

The actress emphasized the importance of maintaining mental health while navigating human connections. Reflecting on her personality, Akindele said, “I am not proud of that, and I am proud of it. There must be a balance. I am an extremist, I love so hard, and I am real and open. I am not perfect, but I can be troublesome.”
She added, “Human relationships for me are very important, and I am learning every day, but no matter what happens, my mental health is paramount.”
