Jaiye Kuti and Pasuma Set to Celebrate 10th Wedding Anniversary with Cinema Release ‘The Anniversary’ Coming May 22nd 2026

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Jaiye Kuti is set to make history as she prepares to bring her 10th wedding anniversary celebration to the big screen. The highly anticipated project titled ‘The Anniversary’ is scheduled for a nationwide cinema release on May 22nd 2026.

The movie which has been generating buzz across social media under the hashtag Jaiyepaso2026 marks a unique blend of Nollywood storytelling and real life celebration. Jaiye Kuti announced the project via her official social media pages sending fans into a frenzy of excitement.

In her announcement the actress revealed that the project will give fans who missed her wedding a decade ago a chance to be part of the celebration. “For those of you who missed our wedding 10 years ago get ready for a mind blowing 10th anniversary of Jaiyeola Monje coming to cinemas nationwide in May 2026,” she wrote on her page.

The film will feature a star studded cast including award winning actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo who won the Best Supporting Actor award at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2024 for his role in Jagun Jagun. Also starring is Fuji music icon Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma known as Oganla of Fuji music who is also Jaiye Kuti’s alleged husband. The couple has kept their marital status largely private but this anniversary project appears to confirm their long standing union.

Jaiye Kuti who is known for producing and starring in films such as Jaiyeola Ni Monje and Alagbede which performed well at the box office shared her excitement in another post writing “Jaiyeola Monje Idamu Adugbo wa tima gbo Olohun. The Anniversary coming soon Ajeh o loud pa.”

Fans and colleagues have flooded social media with congratulatory messages and anticipation for the May release. The actress promised that the celebration would be unlike anything seen before stating that “Ileya ma loud something hefty is about to shake the ground in all cinemas near you.”
