NIS Fixes September Dates for Passport Intervention Exercise in UK

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has released the dates and locations for its September 2026 passport intervention exercise for Nigerians resident in the United Kingdom.

The Service announced the schedule in a public notice issued on Monday, August 31, 2026.

The exercise follows the deployment of a Passport Intervention Team from the NIS Headquarters in Abuja to the UK.

The deployment was carried out on the directive of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to address passport-related challenges affecting Nigerians in the United Kingdom.

According to the NIS, the intervention will be conducted at designated locations across the UK on specified dates in September.

The initiative is expected to provide affected Nigerians with an opportunity to resolve pending passport issues and access relevant immigration services without having to travel to Nigeria.

The Service advised Nigerians intending to participate in the exercise to take note of their designated locations and scheduled dates and ensure they comply with the requirements for the services they seek.

The UK intervention is part of ongoing efforts by the Federal Government and the NIS to improve passport services for Nigerians in the diaspora and reduce delays associated with passport applications and renewals.
