President Bola Tinubu has again met with Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as efforts continue to resolve the lingering political crisis in the state.

Presidency sources confirmed that the meeting took place on Sunday night at the President’s official residence in the Aso Villa, Abuja.

Although details of the discussions have not been made public, the latest engagement comes amid renewed tensions in Rivers State over leadership recognition and stalled impeachment moves reportedly being planned by lawmakers against Governor Fubara.

The intervention follows recent reports that President Tinubu had urged Governor Fubara, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to recognise Wike a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member who currently serves as a minister in the APC-led Federal Government as the political leader of the party in Rivers State.

Political observers believe the meeting marks about the fourth known time President Tinubu has personally stepped in to mediate the protracted political standoff between the two key political figures since the crisis erupted.

The Rivers political crisis has continued to generate national attention, with concerns over its implications for governance and political stability in the oil-rich state.
