TINUBU MEETS U.S AFRICA COMMAND CHIEF IN ABUJA

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has met with the Commander of the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), General Dagvin Anderson, at the State House in Abuja.

The meeting was disclosed by a presidential aide, Segun Dada, via social media.

In attendance were Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; the Service Chiefs; and the Minister of Defence. Members of the U.S. Africa Command delegation and the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Nigeria, Keith Heffern, were also present.

As of the time of filing this report, no official details had been released on the outcome of the discussions. However, the meeting comes amid sustained cooperation between Nigeria and the United States on security and defence issues, particularly counter-terrorism efforts.

General Anderson leads the U.S. Africa Command, which oversees American military operations and security partnerships across the African continent.
