The Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a political mobilisation vehicle working for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, has announced a fresh set of appointments naming former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olisa Metuh, as Director of Organisation and Mobilisation.

In a statement issued on Friday by Tunde Rahman, the newly appointed Director of Media and Publicity of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, the Imo State Governor and Director General of the RHA, Hope Uzodimma, approved the appointment of 16 directors to head various directorates of the organisation as part of efforts to strengthen its operational effectiveness nationwide.

Uzodimma said the appointments are aimed at enhancing the RHA’s structure and improving its operational efficiency as the group scales up operations across the country ahead of the 2027 election campaign . According to the statement, President Bola Tinubu had in November 2025 designed the RHA as the vehicle to disseminate the activities and achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration to every part of the country in a build-up to the 2027 election campaign.

The statement further disclosed that the RHA leadership structure includes Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State as Deputy Director General, Governor Mohammed Inuwa of Gombe State as Secretary, and Honourable James Abiodun Faleke as Deputy Secretary. The organisation also comprises six zonal coordinators, 37 state coordinators, and 774 local coordinators spread across the country.

Among the newly appointed directors, Dr Mustapha Abdullahi takes charge of Youth, while Chief Olisa Metuh heads Organisation and Mobilisation. Tunde Rahman leads Media and Publicity, Sunday Dare oversees Digital and New Media, Mele Kolo Geidam heads Finance, Muiz Banire, SAN, takes charge of Monitoring, Compliance and Legal, Bisoye Coker-Odusote heads Technology and Data, and Abubakar Rabiu Abubakar leads Support Groups.

Other appointments include Ibrahim Garba as Director of Intelligence, Senator Sani Musa for Special Duties, Honourable Simon Karu for Planning, Dr Halima Suleiman Zakari for Welfare, Dr Nnamdi Maurice Mbaeri for Administration, Bilikisu Muhammed Kaika for Women Affairs, Abike Dabiri for Diaspora, and Hadiza Bala Usman for Research and Innovation.

The appointment of Metuh, who served as PDP spokesman from 2012 to 2016, marks a significant political realignment. Metuh had in October 2022 formally resigned his membership of the PDP, citing a decision to withdraw from partisan politics in Nigeria. In a resignation letter dated October 25, 2022, addressed to the PDP national chairman, Metuh stated, “During my three weeks trip for medical and personal reasons, I came to the realisation that I can no longer play partisan politics in Nigeria”.

However, Metuh reportedly joined the All Progressives Congress in November 2025, citing abandonment by the PDP during his legal travails and support from key APC figures . Reflecting on his ordeal, Metuh had earlier said, “When I had problems, I did not see my party. I did not see the people I suffered for. In court, it was just me and my family” . He also disclosed that Governor Hope Uzodimma was among those who showed him compassion, stating, “One of the people that has shown me love is the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma”.

The appointments take effect as part of ongoing efforts to position the Renewed Hope Ambassadors for broader national engagement, with Uzodimma describing the move as a formalisation of the RHA’s internal structure as the organisation gears up for what is expected to be an active role in mobilising grassroots and national support for the Tinubu administration’s second-term bid.
