WARD 8 PDP CHAIRMAN CLAIMS DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT COMPELLED HIM TO CRITICIZE SENATOR NWOKO’S DEFECTION

Clement Chiazor, the Ward 8 Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Aniocha North LGA, has alleged that he was forced by the Delta State Government to issue a statement condemning Senator Ned Nwoko’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Chiazor, his statement was “nothing but a product of coercion” and that the Delta State Government was desperate to control the fallout of Senator Nwoko’s exit.

Chiazor’s initial statement had criticized Senator Nwoko’s decision to leave the PDP, but he has now revealed that he was compelled to do so. In a statement released by Michael Ogar, Senator Nwoko’s media consultant, Chiazor explained that the government’s actions were a desperate attempt to save face. “If the PDP in Delta State had the confidence of its members, it would not need to force anyone to attack Senator Nwoko,” the statement read.

The statement also highlighted Senator Nwoko’s reasons for leaving the PDP, citing the party’s internal divisions, lack of direction, and failure to meet the aspirations of its members and constituents. “Senator Nwoko remains focused on serving the people of Delta North and Nigeria at large. His move to the APC is driven by a desire to contribute to national development under a platform that values progress and inclusivity,” the statement declared.

The people of Delta North have expressed their support for Senator Nwoko, stating that they are not deceived by the tactics employed by the government. They stand with Senator Nwoko in his quest for better governance and a brighter future.
