The Ondo State Police Command has vowed to apprehend the gunmen responsible for the killing of Oba Kehinde Jacob Falodun, the Alagamo of Agamo in Akure North, who was shot dead on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

State Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal gave the assurance when he led a joint security delegation, including personnel from the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and military representatives, to inspect the crime scene.

Lawal pledged that security agencies would work collaboratively to track down the attackers, noting that detectives have already intensified surveillance and strengthened security networks across the area. He also urged residents to remain calm and provide useful information that could aid investigations and lead to the arrest of those responsible.

A community leader, Odeyemi Busayo, who spoke on behalf of Agamo residents, said armed men reportedly stormed the monarch’s palace, dragged him outside, and shot him. His body was later discovered at the scene.

Authorities say the killing has heightened security concerns in the locality, with efforts ongoing to ensure the perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice and to restore public confidence in safety across Ondo State.
