Bola Ahmed Tinubu has promoted Ibrahim Kabiru Masari to the position of Special Adviser on Political Affairs.

The appointment was disclosed in a statement issued by the presidency through the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in Abuja.

Masari previously served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Affairs, a position he had held since 2023. His elevation to Special Adviser places him in a more senior advisory role within the presidency, where he will be involved in providing strategic political guidance to the president.

According to the statement, Masari will work alongside Yau Darazo, who was earlier appointed by President Tinubu to serve as Special Adviser on Political Affairs in July 2023.

Before joining the presidential team, the Katsina-born politician served as Welfare Secretary of the Ruling All Progressives Congress during the tenure of former party chairman Adams Oshiomhole.

Masari is regarded as a close political ally of President Tinubu and has played key roles within the party’s political structure, particularly in the North-West region. His promotion is expected to strengthen the administration’s political coordination and engagement with stakeholders across the country.

Special Advisers serve at the pleasure of the President and typically provide high-level policy and strategic support within the administration.
