Florida Governor Signs Bill to Rename Airport After Trump

Governor Ron DeSantis has signed a bill to rename Palm Beach International Airport as “President Donald J. Trump International Airport,” in honour of US President Donald Trump.

The move, approved on Monday, is part of efforts to recognise Trump’s influence, particularly in Florida, where he maintains a strong presence.

However, the renaming process is not yet complete. While airport naming is considered a local decision, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is required to carry out administrative updates, including revising navigational charts and official databases.

The airport is located about two miles from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, further reinforcing its symbolic connection to the president.

Since returning to the White House in January 2025, Trump has taken steps to leave his imprint on public institutions, including associating his name with prominent national landmarks.

The development has sparked attention within political and aviation circles, as the final implementation now depends on the completion of necessary regulatory and administrative procedures.
