Oluremi Tinubu Celebrates Teachers On World Teachers’ Day 2026, Urges Improved Welfare And Status
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has celebrated teachers across the nation on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day 2026, urging policymakers and society to protect the teaching profession and improve teachers’ welfare.
In a message commemorating the day, the First Lady noted that this year’s celebration is held under the theme, “Standing with Teachers: 60 Years of Protecting the Profession, Advancing Its Status and Shaping Our Futures.”
She said the day is set aside to celebrate the contributions of teachers to national development, adding that teachers shape minds, nurture dreams and prepare future generations to build a better world.
“I encourage policymakers and society at large to continue to protect the teaching profession, improve teachers’ welfare, and elevate their status,” she said.
The First Lady concluded her message with a simple greeting: “Happy World Teachers’ Day.”
The message was signed by Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
