MUSA CHALLENGES GRADUATES OF AFIT ON INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY

The Honourable Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd) OFR, has challenged graduates of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) to embrace innovation and technology in shaping the future of Nigeria’s defence and security sector. The Minister made this call during the institute’s 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Combined Convocation Ceremony for the award of degrees, diplomas, and presentation of special prizes in Kaduna.

In a statement, the Principal Superintendent of Press, Jeff Amaka Promise, who spoke on behalf of the Director of Information and Public Relations, quoted the Minister as emphasising the vital role of education and technological innovation in shaping the future of Nigeria’s defence and security sectors. Gen. Musa commended the graduates for their hard work and urged them to uphold the values of discipline, professionalism, and dedication as they transition into their professional careers. Gen. Musa said, “The future of our nation’s technological advancement lies in your hands; your knowledge and skills are vital to the security and progress of our country.”

Gen. Musa, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr Richard Pheelangwah, noted that AFIT, renowned for its cutting-edge research and exceptional training programmes, continues to foster a generation of highly skilled personnel who contribute to the advancement of Nigeria’s defence capability.

Earlier, the Commandant of the Institute, Air Vice Marshal Adeniran Ademuwagun, extended his best wishes to the graduates as they embark on a new chapter in their careers, expressing hope that they will continue to serve with integrity and dedication to the nation. The convocation ceremony featured the conferment of degrees and awards on outstanding graduates.
