The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports alleging that its National Chairman, David Mark, has resigned, describing the claims as false and deliberately misleading.

In a statement issued by the chairman’s media office, the party labeled the rumour as an “insidious fabrication” spread by what it called “puerile and inconsiderate propagandists” aimed at causing confusion within its ranks.

The statement firmly affirmed that Mark remains the substantive National Chairman, stressing that there has been no discussion or intention of resignation by him or the party’s leadership.

“The assertion that Senator David Mark has stepped down exists only in the warped imagination of those bent on spreading falsehood,” the statement noted.

The party emphasized that its leadership remains united, focused, and committed to strengthening democratic values and offering credible leadership to Nigerians.

ADC further warned against attempts to destabilize the party, suggesting that such actions are driven by fears over its growing political influence ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Reaffirming its stance, the party declared its resolve to resist any effort to undermine Nigeria’s multi-party democracy or impose a one-party system.

It also urged Nigerians to disregard the rumours and remain confident in the stability and direction of the party’s leadership.
