The management of the Confluence University of Science and Technology, CUSTECH, in Osara, Kogi State, has expelled four students and rusticated another following approved recommendations from the institution’s Students’ Disciplinary Committee. The sanctions were confirmed after the university’s 30th Regular Senate Meeting held on April 29, 2026.

Among the expulsions, two female students were dismissed over allegations of same-sex conduct. Official letters signed by the Deputy Registrar of Academic Affairs, Mr. Eli Usman Gbadafu, identified the affected students as Ezekiel Precious Omeneke, a 200-level Economics student, and Aku Joy Chinyere, a 200-level Accounting student, stating they were “expelled over alleged involvement in lesbianism”.

In separate disciplinary cases, the university also expelled Musa Abdulhakeem Onimisi, a 200-level Petroleum and Gas Engineering student, for “physical assault and stabbing of another student.” Similarly, Dominion Kolade A., a 200-level Physiotherapy student, was expelled for “cloning and circulating photographs of two female students without their consent” . The university further rusticated Agbakaru Kosikochukwu, a 200-level Radiography student, for one academic session over fighting and physical assault.

Following the verdicts, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, praised the disciplinary committee for what he described as a thorough and fair investigation process. He reiterated the institution’s commitment to producing graduates distinguished not only by academic excellence but also by good character and discipline. The management warned students against engaging in acts capable of jeopardising their academic future, stressing that the university would continue to enforce its rules and regulations without compromise.
