Kano APC Stakeholders Endorse Gov Yusuf for Second Term Ahead of 2027 Elections
Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have unanimously endorsed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

The endorsement was announced during a massive stakeholders’ gathering held on Thursday at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano, where party leaders and supporters expressed confidence in the governor’s leadership and administration.
According to a statement issued by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the endorsement followed extensive consultations among party stakeholders aimed at strengthening unity within the APC and sustaining ongoing development projects across the state.
The stakeholders described Governor Yusuf’s administration as performance-driven and people-oriented, citing achievements in education, healthcare, infrastructure, water supply, and youth empowerment as reasons for backing his second-term ambition.

They noted that the growing support for the governor reflects increasing public confidence in his style of governance and commitment to development across Kano State.
Speaking after the endorsement, Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to party leaders and supporters for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to remain committed to delivering democratic dividends to the people of Kano State.
The governor also urged party members to maintain unity, peace, and cooperation as the APC prepares for the 2027 general elections.
Earlier, Chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee and former Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Muntari Shagari, commended the large turnout of party faithful at the event, describing it as a strong indication of grassroots support for the governor.
The motion endorsing Governor Yusuf for a second term was moved by Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and seconded by Senator Suleiman Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila.
