NCDMB, Totalenergies, and Geoplex Launch Human Capital Development Programme on Offshore Services
The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in partnership with TotalEnergies and Geoplex Drillteq Limited, has launched the Nigeria Content Human Capital Development Training Programme for the Provision of Offshore Cased Hole Logging and Associated Services. The initiative officially kicked off on Monday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
This one-year specialised training programme is designed to build indigenous capacity in critical oil and gas service areas and equip Nigerian youths with industry-relevant skills.

The initiative is structured to enhance local participation and competitiveness within the sector and is being delivered by Arewa Innovative Solutions.
The curriculum comprises six months of intensive classroom-based learning followed by six months of practical job training.
Participants will receive monthly stipends throughout the programme and will earn internationally recognised certifications upon successful completion of the course.

Speaking at the launch, the General Manager of Human Capacity Development, Ms. Alexis Emelle, described the initiative as more than a conventional training programme. “This is not just the kick-off of any training; it is the opening of a door that does not remain open forever,” she said. “Opportunity is not just a gift; it is a test.”
She urged the trainees to remain committed and disciplined, noting that the initiative reflects the Board’s commitment to building a highly skilled workforce.
Representing TotalEnergies, the Acting Manager of Human Capacity Development, Dr. Sunny Dickay, highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships. “Through this partnership, we are nurturing the young generation to ensure that Nigeria remains competitive in the oil and gas industry,” he stated.
He encouraged participants to embrace the programme with dedication and a spirit of collaboration.
The Human Resources Manager of Geoplex Drillteq Limited, Miss Datokini Soye-Bille, expressed appreciation to NCDMB for spearheading the initiative.
She reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting human capital development within the sector. The kick-off ceremony featured an interactive session and the signing of a code of conduct by the participants.
