PDP Congratulates Adeleke on Osun Victory, Urges Him to Prioritise State’s Progress
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory in the August 15 governorship election, describing the outcome as a reflection of the confidence placed in him by the people of the state.
In a congratulatory message signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, the PDP said Adeleke’s victory was significant and deserved recognition.
The party acknowledged that Adeleke contested the election under the platform of the Accord Party but said it remained proud of its contributions to the democratic development of Osun State.
The PDP wished the governor success as he begins another term in office and expressed hope that his victory would usher in a new period of development, unity and prosperity for the people.
The party also urged Adeleke and other political stakeholders to place the interests of Osun State and Nigeria above partisan considerations.
“May this victory mark the beginning of an even greater chapter of progress, unity, and prosperity for the people of Osun State,” the party said.
The PDP further called on political actors to work towards preserving peace and advancing the interests of the people regardless of political affiliations.
The party’s message comes after Adeleke secured re-election in the Osun governorship election, defeating his major challenger, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Oyebamiji.
Adeleke’s decision to contest under the Accord platform had marked a significant shift in Osun’s political landscape, while the PDP has continued to emphasise its historical role in the state’s democratic development.
The party concluded its message by congratulating Adeleke and wishing him success in his continued service to the people of Osun State.
