Senate President Godswill Akpabio has predicted that President Bola Tinubu could form a government of national unity if he secures re-election in the 2027 presidential election.

Akpabio made the prediction on Wednesday during plenary in Abuja, citing the inclusion of politicians from different political parties in the expanded APC Presidential Campaign Council as a sign of growing cross-party cooperation.

He specifically referenced Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party.

According to the Senate President, the participation of politicians outside the ruling All Progressives Congress in Tinubu’s campaign structure could signal a broader political alliance that may shape the next administration.

Akpabio’s remarks suggest that Tinubu’s political strategy could extend beyond the APC as the 2027 election approaches.

However, the formation of a government of national unity remains a prediction, dependent on Tinubu’s re-election and any subsequent decision by his administration.
