Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, is set to inaugurate a 10,000-member canvassers’ network in Ijesa North on June 10, 2026, as part of intensified grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The announcement was made in a statement on Saturday by Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesman of the Imole Campaign Council, which is coordinating Adeleke’s re-election bid.

Olajengbesi said the initiative is aimed at strengthening voter awareness and political engagement across the region, describing it as a major step in consolidating support for the governor’s second-term ambition.

According to him, the large-scale mobilisation reflects growing grassroots enthusiasm for Adeleke’s administration and the need to sustain political momentum ahead of the next election cycle.

He also expressed appreciation to the people of Ijesa North and the Accord Party for giving him the platform to contest the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives in 2027.

Olajengbesi, who recently received the party’s Certificate of Return, vowed to unseat the incumbent lawmaker, Wole Oke, who has represented the constituency for over two decades.

He described the planned canvassers’ inauguration as the beginning of a “historic movement” aimed at reshaping political representation in the constituency.

“We are commencing this historic movement to reposition Ijesa North for greater development, effective representation, and shared prosperity with the inauguration of 10,000 canvassers for Governor Ademola Adeleke across Ijesa North,” he said.

Olajengbesi added that Governor Adeleke would personally inaugurate the canvassers, underscoring what he described as the importance of grassroots mobilisation to the administration’s political strategy.

He further stated that voter education and political awareness remain central to the campaign’s objectives, as the team seeks to deepen citizen participation in the electoral process.
