ANIOMA STATE CREATION TAKES A STEP FORWARD AS TECHNICAL COMMITTEE IS INAUGURATED

A significant milestone was achieved in the quest for the creation of Anioma State with the inauguration of a Technical Committee in Asaba, the Delta State capital. Senator Prince Ned Nwoko, the arrowhead of the campaign for the creation of the state, described the development as “a key step in advancing the Bill I presented before the National Assembly.”

The Technical Committee is chaired by His Royal Majesty, Obi Professor Epiphany Azinge SAN, the Asagba of Asaba, with His Royal Majesty, Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekuzi, the Dein of Agbor, as Co-Chairman, and His Royal Majesty, Obuenwe Johnson Ekpechi, the Ezemu of Emu, as Vice Chairman. Senator Nwoko expressed gratitude to the traditional rulers across Delta North, who are integral members of the committee.

“The work has begun, with unity, clarity, and determination. I sincerely thank everyone who attended and contributed to today’s historic event. Your presence and support are deeply appreciated as we move forward together on this defining path,” Senator Nwoko said.

The creation of Anioma State has garnered significant support, with 75 senators backing the bill. A public hearing on the matter is scheduled to hold in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Senator Nwoko’s efforts have also received endorsement from APC stakeholders in Delta North, who have pledged to work towards achieving statehood.
