Adeleye Falade has officially assumed office as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria LNG Limited.

He took over the role on Wednesday at the company’s corporate headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

His appointment follows the elevation of his predecessor, Philip Mshelbila, to the position of Secretary-General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum.

Before his appointment, Falade served as Managing Director of Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad, where he led operations within one of the world’s established LNG-producing companies.

With nearly three decades of experience in the global oil and gas industry, Falade has built a strong track record across the LNG and petroleum value chain. His career within the Shell spans multiple regions, including Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Russia, and Africa, where he held several technical and leadership roles.

He also previously served as Country Chair for Shell Namibia and held key positions at NLNG, including General Manager, Production, and Operations Manager, where he was responsible for plant performance, safety, and operational efficiency.

Falade holds a degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from the University of Ibadan and an MBA from Henley Business School, University of Reading, United Kingdom.

He assumes leadership at a critical time for NLNG, as the company moves closer to completing its Train 7 expansion project, expected to significantly boost production capacity and strengthen Nigeria’s position in the global LNG market.

His appointment also reflects NLNG’s continued commitment to indigenous leadership and local capacity development within the organisation.
