FIRST LADY EMPOWERS 500 VULNERABLE WOMEN IN EDO STATE

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has empowered 500 vulnerable women in Edo State with various items under the Renewed Hope Agenda Initiative for Financial Inclusivity. The beneficiaries, drawn from the three Senatorial Districts of the state, were urged to make judicious use of the items to enhance their living standards and empower others.

Senator Tinubu noted that the programme is part of a larger initiative to empower 18,500 women across the country’s six geo-political zones. “This programme acknowledges the vital roles women play in nation-building and also aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu,” she said.

The empowerment items distributed included gas cookers with ovens, deep freezers, generators, and industrial grinding machines. The First Lady encouraged the beneficiaries to use the resources judiciously to grow their businesses. “These items serve as a platform for a better life as we pray that what you receive will grow in your hands,” she said.

Governor Monday Okpebholo, represented by his Special Adviser on Media Projects, Godswill Inegbe, thanked the President and the First Lady for their visionary leadership and unwavering support for the people and government of Edo State. “The commitment to inclusive development by the President and the First Lady continues to inspire hope and progress across the nation,” he said.

The Governor assured that his administration will not leave any woman in the State behind in the collective journey towards building a peaceful, progressive, and prosperous Edo State. “We believe that when women are empowered, families are strengthened, communities flourish, and nations thrive,” he added.

One of the beneficiaries, Faith Mbah, thanked the First Lady and her husband, as well as the State Governor, for the items, which she said was a big relief to her. “We will utilize the items to grow our businesses, improve our lives, and contribute to the development of the nation,” she assured.
