An Islamic cleric, Professor Luqman Zakariyah, on Friday offered prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing him as a father of all and expressing hope that his administration would bring renewed hope to the hopeless in society.

Professor Zakariyah made the remarks while officiating at the Wedding Fatiha of the children of the Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle, held at the National Mosque, Abuja.

President Tinubu attended the multiple wedding ceremony, representing the Matawalle family.

Also present at the event was the President of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, Carlos Manuel Vila Nova, alongside other dignitaries.

In his prayers, the Imam called on Almighty Allah to grant President Tinubu good health, long life, prosperity, and success in office.

“We pray to Almighty Allah to give our President, who is representing all, the father of all the brides and the grooms, good health,” Professor Zakariyah said.

“We also ask Allah to grant our President long life, prosperity, and success during his presidency. We pray that his tenure will bring hope to the hopeless.”

Former Zamfara State Governor Matawalle gave out five of his daughters, Maryam, Safiyya, Farida, Nana Firdausi, and Aisha in marriage, while five of his sons—Ibrahim, Abdul Jalal, Surajo, Bello, and Fahad also tied the knot.

President Tinubu formally received the brides on behalf of the Matawalle family during the ceremony.

The officiating Imam further prayed for the couples, asking Allah to bless their marriages, grant them success in their life journeys, and bless their parents and grandparents.
