Kwankwaso Disappointed as Nafiu Bala Misses Meeting, Calls on Gombe Emir and Others to Advise Him
Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has expressed disappointment after Nafiu Bala failed to attend a scheduled meeting, describing the absence as a missed opportunity for fatherly counsel. He has called on the Emir of Gombe and other traditional and political leaders to advise the young politician.
Speaking in an interview with DCL Hausa, Kwankwaso said he waited until dawn for Bala but was informed that he would not show up. “Yesterday, right up until dawn, I was waiting for Nafiu Bala, but he didn’t come. People told me he will not come. I wasn’t happy about it,” he stated.
Using a local metaphor, Kwankwaso added, “I told him that he shouldn’t turn into the lizard at the mouth of the pot,” urging Bala to rethink his actions within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the broader democratic process.
Kwankwaso, who described Bala as a young man born in 1990, said he had intended to offer guidance “like from father to son” and warned that Bala’s current actions could be detrimental to his political future.
“Whoever sees him should advise him to remove his hand from bringing problems to the ADC,” he said, appealing to the Emir of Gombe, other Emirs, politicians, and Sheikhs familiar with Bala to intervene.
The senator’s remarks highlight ongoing tensions and the need for mentorship and guidance for emerging political figures within the party.
