Liverpool Rescue Point Against Nottingham Forest in Dramatic 2-2 Anfield Draw

Liverpool were forced to come from behind twice as they played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday, leaving new Reds manager Andoni Iraola still waiting for his first Premier League victory.

Summer signing Víctor Muñoz struck in the 82nd minute with a powerful effort that deflected into the net, rescuing a point for the hosts and marking an impressive start to his Anfield career.

The Spaniard’s goal sparked a late Liverpool push for a winner, but Forest held firm to secure a valuable point.

The result means Iraola has now overseen two consecutive 2-2 draws in his first two Premier League matches as Liverpool manager. The Reds also came from behind to draw 2-2 away to Newcastle United in their opening league fixture.

For Liverpool, the result will bring mixed feelings. Their ability to fight back twice demonstrated resilience, but conceding two goals at home will raise further questions about their defensive organisation.

Forest, meanwhile, can take plenty of encouragement from a performance that saw them lead twice and threaten to claim a third consecutive victory at Anfield.
