“Nigeria Won’t Want You Beyond 2027,” ADC Warns Tinubu
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has delivered a stern message to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, insisting that this year marks the final year of his tenure in office.
In a strongly worded statement issued in Abuja, the ADC, through its National Publicity Secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, argued that the President’s constitutional mandate expires in 2027, warning that Nigerians “would not want him to remain in office for a day longer.”
The opposition party criticised recent comments from the Presidency suggesting that President Tinubu could serve beyond 2027, describing such remarks as “presumptuous and undemocratic.”
The ADC’s statement also highlighted concerns over insecurity, economic strain, and governance challenges under the current administration, urging the President to focus on effectively wrapping up his term rather than eyeing a prolonged stay in office.
The party’s declaration adds to ongoing national debates about leadership performance and democratic accountability as Nigeria approaches its next general election cycle.
