The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria’s North Central zone has overwhelmingly endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, vowing to deliver the highest number of votes among all six geopolitical zones.

This was confirmed in a press statement signed by Yomi Odunuga, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), during the North Central Zonal Congress held on Wednesday, 25 March 2026, in Lafia.

Senator George Akume, SGF and leader of the APC in the zone, led the powerful delegation that made the declaration.

A motion to adopt President Tinubu was moved by Senator Akume and seconded by Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, receiving thunderous approval and applause from delegates.

The event drew all serving governors from the zone, former governors and deputies, National and State Assembly members, federal ministers, and other prominent political figures.

In his address, Senator Akume described the endorsement as a reflection of immense confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and the administration’s efforts to reposition Nigeria for prosperity.

He called on party members to close ranks, bury differences, and consolidate the party’s achievements ahead of the 2027 polls.

Akume further assured that the North Central zone would provide strategic advantage through unity, focusing on governance and service delivery. “Our governors and ministers are performing exceptionally. North Central will deliver the highest votes amongst Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones,” he said.

The endorsement was met with sustained applause and loud chants, signaling strong support for Tinubu’s re-election bid and positioning the North Central zone as a key pillar of the APC ahead of 2027.
