PDP BENUE SOUTH FACTION REITERATES COMMITMENT TO PARTY, VOWS TO ENSURE VICTORY IN 2027

The Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State, has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the party despite the ongoing internal crisis. In a communique signed by Benue South Chairman, Ikeke Augustine, the group declared that the PDP remains strong and unbeatable, stating clearly, “We will not leave the PDP.”

The members of the PDP Caucus from the Benue South Senatorial District (Zone C), led by Senator Moro, convened over the weekend in Makurdi, the state capital, where they unanimously resolved to remain in the PDP. “Benue South is PDP, and PDP is Benue South. Our members have resolved to stay in the party and strategize to ensure victory in the 2027 elections,” the communique read.

The caucus warned that any member found attending coalition meetings would face immediate sanctions, stressing that there is no room for political saboteurs. “We will not tolerate any form of sabotage or betrayal,” the group implied in their statement.

The group reiterated its commitment to strengthening the PDP’s position and pledged full support for all initiatives aimed at securing a decisive win in the upcoming polls. They also reaffirmed their support for Senator Abba Moro and House of Representatives Member for Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency, Pastor Ojotu Ojema, vowing to return both to their respective positions in 2027.
The party reassured members and supporters of continued delivery of democratic dividends now and in the future. This declaration comes amid concerns about the party’s internal divisions and potential defections, with some notable members like former Governor Gabriel Suswam expressing dissatisfaction with the party’s leadership and hinting at possible defections.
