PDP WARNS AGAINST FORCIBLE OCCUPATION OF NATIONAL SECRETARIAT, CITES PENDING LITIGATION
The Peoples Democratic Party has issued a strong warning against any attempt to forcibly occupy its National Secretariat and other party properties. The party stated it is aware of plans by some expelled members to gain access, either by force or through collusion with security forces.

In a statement, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, revealed that the PDP has written to the Inspector General of Police and the Commissioner of Police for the FCT Command. The communication reminds them that the secretariat remains a subject of pending litigation. “The secretariat is still a res before the Federal High Court, Abuja, and the Court of Appeal,” Ememobong stated. He emphasized that any attempt to enter and occupy the property would constitute self-help and disrespect the judicial process. “Any action taken to grant access to anybody, pending the determination of the suit, is a contempt of the court,” Ini Ememobong added.
The party stressed that the case, pending before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, was initiated by the expelled members themselves. Therefore, they cannot resort to self-help until a judgment is delivered. The statement warned all involved, particularly the Police Force, which is a party on record in the case, against actions that could undermine the court’s authority. Ememobong assured that the PDP would deploy all legal means to defend its property from trespass. The party concluded that responsibility for any resulting injury or damage lies solely with the aggressors and their security collaborators.
