PETER OBI SHOT AT IN BENIN, SURVIVES ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT

BENIN CITY – Mr. Peter Obi, the Presidential aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), was on Tuesday shot at by unknown gunmen in Benin, the Edo State capital.

An eyewitness who spoke to newsmen said the incident occurred at an ADC event in the city. According to the source, chaos erupted when hoodlums stormed the venue and opened fire.

They specifically chased the vehicle carrying Mr. Obi to the residence of Chief John Oyegun and continued their attack, the witness added.

This happened a few minutes ago. The situation remains chaotic, and those nearby are trying to ascertain whether Mr. Obi was killed or survived, the eyewitness said.

The attack, which threw the area into a state of confusion, has left supporters and residents in shock as they scrambled to confirm the wellbeing of the former Anambra State governor.

However, confirming the incident, the media adviser to the presidential hopeful, Mr. Valentine Obienyem, stated that Obi is safe.
