Former Nigerian presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has donated ₦15 million to the Philomena School of Nursing Sciences in Edo State as part of his continued support for healthcare, education, and poverty reduction initiatives.

Obi disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, explaining that the donation followed his visit to Benin City on February 24, 2026, where he stopped at the nursing institution.

He noted that the gesture was aimed at strengthening training facilities at the school and encouraging both students and staff pursuing excellence in healthcare education.

The former Anambra State governor said the intervention aligns with his broader commitment to supporting critical sectors of national development, particularly healthcare delivery and skills acquisition.

He called on governments at all levels, as well as wealthy Nigerians, to increase investment in security, education, healthcare, and poverty reduction.

“These are the foundations upon which a just and prosperous society must stand,” Obi said, reiterating that “A new Nigeria is possible.”
