Policies Are Working’ – Oborevwori Endorses Tinubu at APC Gathering
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has praised the growing strength of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the party’s latest national convention as a clear sign of its expanding influence and national acceptance.
Speaking at the convention held in Abuja, Oborevwori said the large turnout of party members and leaders reflected increasing confidence in the APC, particularly amid a wave of defections from opposition parties.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier urged party leaders to attract more opposition figures, a move analysts say has strengthened the ruling party’s dominance ahead of future elections.
The governor, who defected to the APC in 2025, noted that his decision to align Delta State with the federal government was already yielding tangible results. According to him, the move has improved access to resources and enhanced governance outcomes in the state.
Oborevwori also threw his weight behind Tinubu’s economic and governance policies, acknowledging that while Nigerians are facing economic challenges, the reforms are beginning to produce results.
He pointed to increased revenue allocations to states, which he said have enabled governments to meet obligations such as salary payments and infrastructure development.
“The policies and programmes of Mr. President are working… it’s a gradual process,” the governor said, emphasizing that more governors would not be joining the APC if the administration was underperforming.
He further highlighted that the APC now controls an unprecedented number of states, describing it as evidence of the party’s political momentum and public support. servers say the convention, which brought together key stakeholders across the country, is part of broader efforts by the ruling party to consolidate power and position itself strongly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to delivering development in Delta State while urging Nigerians to remain patient with ongoing reforms and continue supporting both state and federal governments.
