PRESIDENT TINUBU CELEBRATES VICE PRESIDENT SHETTIMA’S 59TH BIRTHDAY
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 59th birthday, praising his courage, sense of duty, tenacity, determination, and belief in Nigeria’s greatness. In a statement released on September 2, 2025, President Tinubu described Shettima as a remarkable leader who has shown that leadership is service, not privilege, even in the face of immense challenges.
President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said Shettima’s service to Nigeria, fueled by his passion for democracy, good governance, and economic development, has been even more remarkable. “I deeply appreciate your vibrancy, loyalty, partnership, and support as my deputy,” Tinubu said.
The President highlighted Shettima’s excellent service as Governor of Borno State for eight years and later as Senator representing Borno Central in the National Assembly. Tinubu noted that their partnership has been integral to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to foster prosperity in the country and enhance the living standards of Nigerians.
“Together, we have begun to lay the foundations of the Renewed Hope Agenda. From securing new global partnerships across the Atlantic to driving food security and investment reforms at home, your partnership has been integral to our success,” Tinubu said. Shettima’s dedication reassures Tinubu that he did not make a mistake in choosing him as his deputy.
The President wished Shettima renewed vitality, wisdom, and more years of impact, saying, “Happy birthday, Kashim, and many happy returns!” Tinubu described their relationship as a bridge across regions and traditions, united in purpose and service, and praised Shettima for reminding them of what is possible when Nigeria comes first. “You remind us of what is possible when Nigeria comes first — an example worthy of emulation by those who aspire to lead,” he added.

Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated the Obi of Owa Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Obi (Dr) Emmanuel Efeizomor II, OON, as the revered traditional ruler marks his 88th birth anniversary. Oborevwori in a congratulatory message issued in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, described the monarch as one of Delta State’s most respected and accomplished traditional rulers who has contributed immensely to the growth of his kingdom and the state at large.
Governor Oborevwori noted that over the years, Obi Efeizomor II has continued to demonstrate wisdom, commitment and exemplary leadership in guiding the Owa Kingdom while also contributing meaningfully to the broader development of Delta State. He commended the monarch for preserving the rich cultural heritage and tradition of the Owa people, describing him as a revered father figure and a source of inspiration to many within and beyond the kingdom.
The governor also acknowledged the visible transformation witnessed in the Owa Kingdom during the monarch’s reign, particularly in the areas of infrastructure and human capital development, which he said had strengthened the socio-economic progress of the community.
