The Nigeria Association of Resident Doctors has directed its members at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital to commence an indefinite strike with immediate effect, following the alleged assault on a female house officer at the facility.
The incident, which reportedly occurred recently, has triggered widespread concern and condemnation, raising fresh questions about the safety and protection of healthcare workers in Nigerian hospitals.
The association is demanding urgent intervention from hospital management and relevant authorities, insisting that those responsible for the assault must be identified and held accountable.
The industrial action has led to a disruption of medical services at the hospital, leaving patients stranded and impacting healthcare delivery across parts of Ogun State.
