Tinubu Urges Global Collaboration, Science-Driven Solutions on World Health Day 2026
Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has called for stronger global collaboration and sustained investment in science and healthcare systems to promote a healthier and more resilient world.
In a message to mark World Health Day 2026, Senator Tinubu highlighted this year’s theme, “Together for Health. Stand with Science,” describing it as a reminder that progress in healthcare depends largely on innovation and collective action across nations and sectors.
She noted that scientific partnerships have played a critical role in addressing major health challenges facing humanity, adding that such collaborations remain essential in guiding societies toward healthier living.
The First Lady also underscored the significance of the One Health approach, which recognises the interconnectedness of human, animal, plant, and environmental health. According to her, adopting this approach is vital in addressing emerging health threats and ensuring sustainable well-being.
“As we mark this important day as a global community, let us continue to support science, invest in health systems, and work together to build a healthier and more resilient world for all,” she stated.
She further extended goodwill to Nigerians and the global community, wishing everyone a meaningful World Health Day celebration.
