University Postpones Exams Following Deadly Evening Attacks in Angwan Rukuba

The management of University of Jos has postponed all examinations scheduled for Monday, March 30, and Tuesday, March 31, 2026, following late evening attacks by unknown gunmen in Angwan Rukuba; a neighborhood home to many students and staff.

 

The Vice Chancellor, through the Deputy Registrar of Information and Public Relations, Emmanuel Madugu, has urged the university community to exercise heightened vigilance both on and off campus.

Members are strongly advised to avoid leaving home very early in the morning and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the University Security Division at 08035895323.

 

University authorities are working closely with relevant security agencies and continue to monitor the situation to ensure the safety of staff and students. Further updates will be communicated as the situation develops.

 

In a statement, the university emphasized reliance on faith and resilience during these challenging times, calling for the community’s steadfast confidence in the LORD.
