VICE PRESIDENT KASHIM SHETTIMA PRAYS FOR NIGERIA’S PEACE AND STABILITY AT UMRAH

Vice President Kashim Shettima has performed the lesser hajj (Umrah) at the Holy Mosque of Makkah (Masjid al-Haram) in Saudi Arabia, offering prayers for Nigeria’s peace and stability. Speaking at the holy site in Makkah, VP Shettima sought God’s guidance and intervention for the nation’s leadership and citizenry.
“Our prayer is for peace to prevail in our land. May Allah grant our land peace and social harmony,” the Vice President said. He also prayed for divine attributes for Nigeria’s leaders, asking for wisdom, patience, and generosity in all their dealings.
According to Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications (Office of the Vice President), VP Shettima further prayed for wisdom to rule the nation well and to govern the people well. “Let there be peace, tranquility, and prosperity in our nation. This is our prayer, and Insha’ Allah, our prayers will be answered by Allah,” the Vice President said.
The Vice President’s visit to Saudi Arabia for the Umrah was part of his trip from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where he represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the commissioning of a $315 million oil production and storage facility owned by Oriental Energy Limited (OERL). VP Shettima is expected to return to Nigeria tomorrow.
