2027: Remi Tinubu Seeks North-Central Support, Promises Prosperity Under Tinubu
Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has urged voters in the North-Central region to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, assuring them that his administration’s reforms would translate into greater prosperity if given a second term.
She made the appeal on Saturday in Lafia, Nasarawa State, at the grand rally organised by the North-Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network to endorse the re-election of President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The rally attracted party faithful from across the North-Central geopolitical zone, alongside prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders, including the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma and other governors from the region.
Speaking at the event, the First Lady said the President remained committed to national unity, security and economic prosperity, adding that his second-term agenda would focus on consolidating ongoing reforms and improving living conditions.
She said the President’s October 1 Independence Day address, titled From Reforms to Prosperity, reflected his administration’s intention to move beyond economic reforms towards delivering tangible benefits to Nigerians.
According to her, signs of economic stabilisation, declining foreign exchange rates and renewed investor interest suggest that the country is making progress.
“Foreign exchange is going down, and investors are coming back to Nigeria. Our farmers too, you can see all our governors here, they are doing infrastructural development like no other time before,” she said.
Tinubu also highlighted the administration’s efforts to address food insecurity and improve access to nutritious food, particularly for vulnerable women and children.
She said the government had concluded a food bank programme designed to support children, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers, while providing nutritional assistance and treatment for malnourished children.
The First Lady further pointed to government support for students, saying young Nigerians in educational institutions were benefiting from funding initiatives.
Urging residents of the North-Central region to mobilise support for the President, she described Tinubu as a leader willing to take difficult decisions in pursuit of the country’s development.
She called on party supporters to communicate the administration’s agenda to their communities, expressing confidence that a second term would strengthen the economy, improve security and advance national development.
“Therefore, vote for continuity, vote for capacity, vote for prosperity, vote for the re-election of Mr President and all the candidates of APC from top to bottom,” she said.
Other speakers at the rally also urged Nigerians to support Tinubu and APC candidates in the 2027 general elections, describing continuity in government as essential to sustaining the administration’s programmes.
The gathering formed part of efforts by APC supporters and mobilisation groups to build grassroots backing for the re-election of Tinubu and Shettima ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
