Segun Ogunwuyi, Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, has resigned from his position, becoming the latest political appointee to leave the state government in recent months.

Ogunwuyi communicated his decision in a resignation letter dated Monday, October 12, 2026, stating that his resignation took immediate effect.

In the letter addressed to Makinde, the former chief of staff expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve the Oyo State Government and its people.

He described his time in office as an honour but did not disclose the reasons for his resignation in the letter cited in the report.

His departure comes amid a series of exits by political appointees from the Makinde administration in recent months.

However, no further details were provided regarding the circumstances surrounding his resignation or who would succeed him as chief of staff.
