Seplat Energy Plc, a joint venture partner of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and a major gas supplier to the NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company Limited pipeline network, has announced a scheduled routine maintenance of its gas production facilities from February 12 to 15, 2026.

In a statement issued Thursday, NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Andy Odeh, said the exercise forms part of standard industry safety and asset integrity procedures designed to guarantee the long-term reliability and efficiency of critical gas infrastructure.

According to him, periodic maintenance is necessary to sustain optimal system performance, reinforce operational resilience, and reduce the risk of unexpected outages.

NNPC disclosed that gas supply into the NGIC pipeline network will be temporarily reduced during the four-day maintenance window.

As a result, some power generation companies reliant on the network may experience lower gas availability, potentially leading to a slight dip in electricity generation within the period.

However, the national oil company assured that the development is temporary and part of routine operational planning.

The statement noted that NNPC and Seplat are working closely to ensure the maintenance is executed safely and completed on schedule.

In addition, NNPC Gas Marketing Limited is engaging alternative gas suppliers to mitigate anticipated shortfalls and stabilise the pipeline network during the maintenance exercise.

NNPC further assured stakeholders that full gas supply will resume immediately after the maintenance is concluded, allowing affected power generation companies to restore normal operations.

The company said further updates would be communicated as necessary.
