Gov. Lawal Commends Security Forces After Recovery of 329 Cattle from Bandits

Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has commended security operatives for their commitment and determination in the ongoing fight against banditry following the recovery of hundreds of rustled livestock in the state.

The governor’s commendation came after operatives of the Violence Crime Response Unit (VCRU) of the Zamfara State Police Command successfully recovered 329 cattle and 175 sheep during an operation in the Gambanda Forest of Gummi Local Government Area on Saturday.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, Governor Lawal described the latest achievement as a positive sign in efforts to restore peace and security across the state.

He praised the courage and professionalism displayed by the police officers involved in the operation, noting that they confronted and overpowered armed bandits, leading to the recovery of the livestock as well as weapons and ammunition.

According to the governor, the operation demonstrates the dedication of security personnel working under difficult conditions to protect lives and property in Zamfara State.

Lawal also lauded the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammad Bello, stating that his strategic direction has contributed significantly to improving security and strengthening the fight against criminal activities in the state.

“The successful recovery of livestock and weapons underscores the commitment of our security agencies to safeguarding the livelihoods of our people and tackling the menace of banditry,” the governor said.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies through the provision of necessary resources and collaboration aimed at enhancing public safety.

The governor expressed optimism that sustained efforts by security forces would continue to yield positive results in the campaign against banditry and other forms of criminality across Zamfara State.
