FG Mourns Nigerian Medical Graduate Killed in Russian Attack on Ukraine

The Federal Government has expressed grief over the death of a 23-year-old Nigerian medical graduate, Miss Nnani Adaobi Marian, who died following injuries sustained during a Russian aerial attack on Kharkiv, Ukraine.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its spokesperson, confirmed that the deceased was a graduate of Kharkiv National Medical University.

The ministry conveyed the Federal Government’s condolences to the bereaved family, describing the loss as tragic.

It also disclosed that Nigerian diplomatic missions in Ukraine and Germany are in contact with relevant authorities to verify details surrounding the incident and provide the necessary consular assistance.

The Federal Government reiterated its call for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

It further reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to the protection and welfare of its citizens abroad, assuring that it would continue to closely monitor developments while providing all necessary support through its diplomatic missions.
