The Spokesperson for the African Democratic Congress Party in Osun State, Hon. Nureni Adebisi, has declared that the party has become a formidable political force in the state, built on sound principles of vision, ideas, and progressive governance.

He made this known while appearing as a Guest at the Osun NUJ Guest Platform on Friday in Osogbo.

The program, however, began on a somber note as Hon. Adebisi offered his heartfelt condolences to the NUJ Financial Secretary, who had just received the tragic news of his very close friend’s death about five minutes into the session.

Despite the heavy atmosphere, the Guest proceeded to express profound gratitude to the National Body of the NUJ for their transparency and recent collaborations with security agencies. He also appreciated the Osun NUJ for hosting the platform, which he described as a beacon of accountability for good governance.

Responding to panelists who described the ADC as the third force in the state’s political setting, Hon. Adebisi noted that the party, under the leadership of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, was adopted in the country only one year and five days ago. He emphasized that within that short period, the party has impressively become a force to reckon with in Osun State.

He further stated that the ADC has practically become the most popular party in the state, operating without rancor, thuggery, violence, or the social media noise that other parties are often identified with.

Hon. Adebisi anchored the party’s strength on its profound principles of vision, ideas, and progressivism.

He insisted that the party enjoys the good legacy and antecedents of Aregbesola, who governed the state with a solid blueprint that formed the guiding framework for his successful administration.

He stressed that the ADC Governorship Candidate, Hon. Najeem Folasayo Salami, also has a plan that is printed and would serve as a transparent yardstick available to the public to tell if he is truly working or not if and when he gets elected come August 15, 2026.

Taking jibes at the present administration, the ADC Spokesperson described the flyovers constructed by the current government as unnecessary, arguing that underpasses would have been more appropriate.

He highlighted some of the party’s key agendas, which include robust security encompassing sound policies and a non-kinetic approach to crime combat, health and environmental security, workers’ welfare, agricultural economy, and mass empowerment. He reiterated that the ADC candidate plans to be interactive with the people if elected.

Hon. Adebisi charged the media to investigate what he termed a “dangerous political trade by barter” between Abuja and Osogbo over the Local Government issues currently gripping the state. He expressed confusion at why the incumbent governor would still endorse and bow to former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, whom he described as the governor’s “tormentor-in-chief.”
