Pelumi Olajengbesi, the high-profile human rights lawyer and spokesperson for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Imole Campaign Council, marked his 40th birthday in grand style just days after the tense Osun State governorship election.

The Abuja-based legal practitioner turned 40 on August 12th, a date that fell a mere three days before the election, leading him to assume his milestone would pass quietly.

Unknown to him, family and friends orchestrated a surprise celebration a week after the polls.

Olajengbesi described the event as “profoundly humbling” and “truly unforgettable,” adding that he remained amazed such a large event was planned without his knowledge.

He praised the sacrifices of those who made the evening possible and expressed deep gratitude to Governor Adeleke for the honour shown.

“Forty years have taught me that both life and relationships are expressions of grace that must never be taken for granted,” Olajengbesi reflected, offering thanks to God and all who contributed to the celebration.

The lawyer, who is also the Accord Party candidate for the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections, has been a vocal and visible figure in Osun politics.

Governor Adeleke had earlier celebrated Olajengbesi’s birthday, describing him as a “remarkable legal advocate” who is “selfless” and “always ready to make sacrifices for the greater good”.

The governor praised his grassroots mobilisation and his contributions to repositioning Osun State.

In addition to the celebration, Olajengbesi had previously announced a scholarship scheme for 100 indigent students from his constituency to commemorate his 40th year.
