House Committee Uncovers 58 Bank Accounts Linked to Adeyemi, Clears Gbajabiamila in PFIPC Probe

The House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee investigating the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) has uncovered what it described as an elaborate scheme allegedly involving forged government documents and false representations of federal authority.

The committee, chaired by Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, disclosed the findings as part of its preliminary investigation into the activities and purported operations of the organisation.

According to the committee, the PFIPC was never lawfully established by an Act of the National Assembly, an Executive Order or any other valid government instrument.

The lawmakers said their investigation had also uncovered approximately 58 bank accounts linked to identifying details associated with Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi.

The committee further revealed that more than 30 of the accounts were reportedly operated in the names of about nine agencies, companies, foundations and other related entities.

The lawmakers are also investigating an alleged ₦400 million transaction involving a company that reportedly claimed it was induced to make payments to Adeyemi after being promised a government contract.

The committee said the findings formed part of its ongoing effort to establish how the purported organisation operated, the individuals involved and the financial transactions allegedly connected to it.

Meanwhile, the committee has preliminarily cleared the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, of involvement in the purported organisation.

The committee stressed that its findings are preliminary and that investigations into the activities, financial transactions and individuals allegedly connected to the PFIPC are continuing.
